The principle of resistive touchscreens is to perform control through pressure sensing, causing the layers of the screen to make contact. There are many ways to touch, including fingers and touch pens. Capacitive touchscreens work by using the body's electric current induction and support only finger operations. Each type of touchscreen has its own advantages: resistive touchscreens have a high surface hardness and durability, and simple manufacturing technology plus lower costs, making them more suitable for smaller products that do not require high touch capabilities. Capacitive touchscreens have high touch accuracy, fast response, and support multi-touch, but their manufacturing costs are higher, making them more suitable for demanding industrial and outdoor environments, as well as electronic products with high touch accuracy requirements.

 

2.Touch accuracy of the LCD touchscreen

TFT LCD touchscreens can sometimes be affected by surrounding electromagnetic interference, so reliable touch accuracy capabilities need to be provided for the display device. This ensures that users can click on the corresponding interface according to their intentions without mis-tapping or operational errors. Compared with resistive touchscreens, capacitive touchscreens are products with higher touch accuracy. When users touch it, the fingertips and the work surface form a coupling capacitance due to the human body's electric field. Since the work surface is connected to a high-frequency signal, the fingertips absorb a small current, which flows out from the electrodes on the four corners of the screen. The controller precisely calculates the ratios of the four currents to obtain the position. Therefore, capacitive touchscreens can achieve 99% accuracy.

The higher the resolution of the touchscreen, the more touch points and better pointing accuracy it can provide, thereby achieving more accurate clicking and better user experience. Capacitive touchscreens perform well with a response time of about 3 milliseconds, while resistive touchscreens are somewhat lower at around 10 milliseconds.

5.Working environment of the LCD touchscreen

The working environment of TFT LCD touchscreens is divided into indoor and outdoor environments. Indoor environments are relatively favorable, so the specifications of the touchscreen are not as high. If the working environment of the touchscreen is a harsh outdoor environment, many environmental factors affecting the screen need to be considered, such as dust resistance, high temperatures and humidity. Usually, corresponding LCD touchscreens are customized according to the environment. For example, if the touchscreen works in a high-temperature and sunny environment, it needs outdoor high-brightness and super-wide working temperature features. In a dusty work environment, dust-proof features and improved glass panels are necessary.
